Fort Rucker is a USA army post based in Dale County. Fort Rucker formerly a wildlife park was launched in 1st May 1942 as “Camp Rucker. It was named after a civil war executive called Edmund Rucker. The post acts as a training base for Army Aviation. It also hosts the “United Army Aviation Center. Some branches of the post are located in Coffee, Houston and Geneva counties.

The main post has three entry points from Daleville, Enterprise and Ozark cities. Before the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, the main post used to be open with unguarded gates allowing civilians to pass through. However, this policy was modified, and the post is only accessible to authorized traffic and guests.

The 110th Aviation Brigade comprises of four battalions in three distinct locations. 11th Aviation Regiment runs and manages air traffic management services for USAACe as well as the National Airspace System.

14th Aviation Regiment is based in Hanchey Army Heliport. They offer graduate-level training through two helicopters namely AH-64D Apache as well as OH-58D Kiowa.
