Marine Corps Reserve – Age Requirements

For you to join the reserve, you must be between the ages of 17 to 29 years. However, 17 year olds need parental consent. You must also have a high school Diploma.

1.Be a U.S citizen
2.Pass a Military Entrance Processing station medical exam
3.Meet thorough mental, physical, and moral standards.
4.Take and pass the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test.

What do they do

After successful end of Marine Corps Recruit training and becoming skillful in your MOS (Military Occupational Specialty), you begin your duties as a Reserve Marine. Training periods are called drills. The Reserve offers three drill status choices. These choices let you pick on the time stretch spent in the active Reserves and in the IRR (Individual Ready Reserve). The IRR are not obligated to partake in Military activities unless precisely called upon to meet back-up requirements.
